RESCUE SAM Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
OPERATION MODE: Semi Automatic
WAVEFORM: BTE (Biphasic Truncated Exponential); balanced impedance
ENERGY: Fixed at 200J as per the new ERC 2015 norms
- Adult: nominally 200 J into a load of 50 Ω
-Infant/child: less than 50J, with optional weakened children's cushions
-SHOCK ENERGY ACCURACY: as per IEC EN60601-2-4
-PROTOCOL: voice commands and indicators guide the user through the protocol.
-PACEMAKER: detection and rejection
- CHARGING CONTROL: Automatically done by the software (arrhythmia detection system and charge control)
- "TIME TAKEN FROM SHOCK ADVICE TO CHARGING: Typically less than 8 seconds with a new battery
- VOICE prompts: Detailed voice prompts guide the user during the use of the defibrillator.
-CONTROLS: Shock button, Info button, on/off switch
INDICATORS: LEDs (in different colors), info-button
CHARGE COMPLETE INDICATOR:
• Voice prompts (press red shock button)
• Flashing red shock button
- DISARM: RESCUE SAM automatically discharges after charging in the following cases:
• If the patient's heart rhythm turns out to be a rhythm that cannot be shocked, or
• If SHOCK button is not pressed within 15 seconds after charging, or
• If IN/OFF switch is pressed to TURN OFF the device, or
• If Defibrillator pads has been removed from the patient or the pad connector is disconnected.
-SHOCK DELIVERY: When defibrillator is charged, if SHOCK button is pressed, shock delivery is completed.
- SHOCK DELIVERY VECTOR: When in anterior-anterior (front-front) (Cable II) mode, adult
defibrillator pads, or in anterior-posterior (front-rear) mode with weakened children's pads.
